Clown triggerfish care

Tank size, tankmates, AVERAGE size, MAXIMUM size, etc. I have a 150g FOWLR with naso tang, bird wrasse, snowflake eel, honeycomb grouper, and niger triggerfish, and I was wondering if I could keep a clown triggerfish because I LOVE the way they look, and like triggers in general.

You are already overstocked. The clown would probably kill all of your other fish. If you want the clown sell the naso, eel, grouper, and niger trigger. The bird wrasse should be fast enough to stay away.

11 inches. It would make your tank look small. However you are currently overstocked for the tank size you have.

As noted above, your tank is overstocked. Both a clown trigger and a crosshatch would grow too large for it. The bird wrasse and naso will also both get too large, so, ultimately, the only way to deal with it is going to be removing a fish (or waiting for them to start removing themselves).

The problem is not filtration, but space, so adding more LR may make things worse (not always, because the loss of space can be counterbalanced by extra hiding places for fish to avoid each other). Either way, it won't solve the pirmary problem, which is going to be lack of swimming room.

both those triggers i think would work good with your current tank mates, i have done a stock list similar to this before. but that was also in a 300 gallon tank, so i believe you should upgrade if you plan on having a predator tank with triggers and such. but even if you dont get the triggers you will still have to upgrade or take out a couple fish because a 150 gallon tank seems big but i think alot of people overestimate the size.

5 fish in a 150 is not overstocked. Add the clown trigger. Very cool.

your tank is very overstocked. a naso tang is supposed to be in a 180g tank. the bird wrasse is much too large for any tank, for that matter. remove your large fish please.

I don't think you tank is really over stocked, it's more about 1-2 fish that will need a bigger tank. IMO I wouldn't add anything more to your tank unless you get rid of something.

Ok I have a 210 gallon fowlr and I have a Vlaminig tang, Clown trigger, 2 niger triggers, huma huma trigger, and a few damsels that I removed out of my reef tank due to the damage they were doing. I also have a chain link eel and a 3 ft zebra eel and they all get along fine actually my clown trigger eats more of the nori then anyone besides the Vlamingi

tank is stocked to the max adding a clown trigger that can get 14inches or so and has random pms modes or adding a crosshatch that gets about 11inches will just end up with a 600 dollar fish dead.

And to the above post that tank only has a regal tang,clown and niger trigger for big fish. The OP is wanting 6 fish that will get a ft or bigger. So imagine another big tang in that picture a big bird wrasse and a grouper plus those triggers are not full grown yet and yes I would say it would be overstocked.

Oh boy, here come the Trigger Police!

The tank doesn't look over stocked right now, but that clown triggle will double if not triple in size (mass not length). It will ultimately outgrow that tank and will definately need an upgrade or will not live as long as it could.
