i have a wild sebae clownfish,he used to live in a huge colony of anthelia in my 37g.i moved up in tank size and only moved a small amount of the anthelia over to the new tank.well the clown killed the small colony off and was without a home for a few months.now, today i look over and see the clown laying on the mantle of my 6"derasa clam.the clam didnt seem to be bothered by the clown, will the clown hosting kill my derasa?do any of you have clams being hosted by clowns?have any of you seen this before?i dont want to lose the clam and will remove the clown if i HAVE to.id prefer to leave the clown in the tank as he is a really cool fish(with lots of personallity).so what do you all think?

its happened quite a few times, alot of people wonder the opposite, will the clam shut and kill the clowns. if the clam is open and not overly bothered, and the clown isnt driving it nuts, just leave it alone, if it is , pull the clam into another area and cover it with eggcrate, then offer the clown another host .

but if its ok now you should be fine. they host in big derasas and gigases in tanks quite a bit it seems.

i figure the clown knows what hes doing lol.i was worried more about my clam, but from what im seeing he only goes into the clam during the day.the clam really doesnt react to the fish laying on it,the fish is gentle with the clam so far.

I've got a maroon clown that has been hosting out of my gigas (12 inches) for a while... he can be ruff on it sometimes by bitting it and rubbing up against it, but no ill affects so far to either party. Here are some pics...

A local reef store, Aquatic Dreams, has an adult squamosa that has a pair of black percs hosting it. Pretty cool to say the least.

Nice I would like to see mine do that, but it seems like he is being a whore and moving from one RBTA to another for now. When she gets to the clam I will call her Pam Anderson
