clown vs damsel

i had bought a 4 stripe damsel and a coral banded shrimp. i drip acllimated them for 30 minutes and put them in th tank and all was good then my male clown started chaseing the damsel. i thought the damsels were mean? will he fight back?

Really hope that this isn't for the 10 gallon tank in your sig. First, a coral banded shrimp in a small tank isn't a good idea -- at least not for your fish.

And a 4 stripe looks too much like a clown (( they are both in the same family )), see them fighting for a while.

They'll possibly fight to the death. Do them a favor and give/trade one away.

If you're going to get rid of one, pitch the 4-striped damsel.
They're terrible and mean. You will regret it.
That was our first fish and we ended up spending 8 hours trying to catch the thing.

i dont think there mean. the clowns are more mean then he is.

he isnt mean yet because he is new, but once he gets aclimated he'll be mean as hell!

I would highly recommend removing the damsel, you shouldnt really have more then the pair of clowns in a 10g (if that) anyways...

I had damsels in my last tank and they scared my clowns away. I am promising myself...no damsels in the new tank!
