hi has anybody ever had a clown that stays about 2 1/2 inches from the top mine will not come down in the tank hes very healthy eats like a pig....90 gallon 30 sump some corals

how long have you had him in the tank?

I know mine did that for a few days then they started wandering around...

Sometimes clowns "host" the upper corner of the tank...if that's the case, not much you can do to change it.
