Clown ?

I have a mated pair of maroon clowns that spawn regularly and live in a large Sebae anemone on the right side of my 180. I just added tonight a small rose anemone to the other side of the tank and I'm wondering if I can add a pair of clowns without the maroons harassing them. The rose is on the other side of the tank, 5' between the two anemones and the two maroon clowns never, and I mean never venture that far left in the tank.

What would you recommend for a clown pair for the rose anemone?

I personally wouldn't try it, especially with a mated pair of maroons, have a feeling that they would kill any new clowns.

Think you should just set up another tank.

You really think the maroons will travel the 5' to get the new clowns?

If I set up a new tank, can I get that blue nem Todd?! :lol:

I know that my Clarkii pair would travel from one side of my 75 to the other just to chase a 3 stripe damsel -- which sort of looks like another clown.

So I do think you would have issues. Part of the problem is if it didn't work out, it would be a huge PITA to get them out of your tank.

I used to have a Clarkii also and that fish was mean. Makes my maroon's look like guppies.

Nooo, I moved to the 'burbs because the 2 hour commute was killing me (( work in Naperville )), and one winter night it was 4 hours just to get home.

My Clarkiis are pretty mellow, unless the fish looks like a clown. Back when I had maroons, they were holy terrors.

What you're saying still stings. This rose anemone is beautiful, so red it looks like wine. I was really thinking about a pair of Onyx to complete the tank.
Talk about an impulse buy, the Bears just gave it away and I went on RC this afternoon and saw the nem up f/s and just up the road from me and pulled the trigger.

I knew I could give the nem a great home but was wishing I could add some clowns . .

I know I would be tempted too, sounds like it is great looking, and with a pair of Onyx....

You could try it, but just consider how hard it would be to get them out if it didn't work out.

Yeah, I saw Big Z finally do something while riding the bench for me in fantasy!!!! He shouldn't have pitched today . . . and he pulled in 98 points. I'm happy but so sad at the same time. Wasn't his arm "tired"?
