clownfish acting very weird

hii,
i have a 6 gallon cube tank thats been set up for about 4 months. Today i bought 3 very tiny clownfish that i will raise in here and when they get too big i will give them to my friend who has a 30 gallon reef. My question is that theyve been in the tank and now i turned off the light for the night but when i checked on them they were laying against the side of the tank and the intake area. THey seemed to be..hosting the side of the tank? could this be happening or is something wrong? They ate likes pigs tonight, too! And are very active!

That is normal. I find that most clown's hang near the sides when newly introduced to a tank. It takes them a few days to get used to it and find a place to hang out at night. As long as they seem to be breathing ok, they should be alright.

I had a pair of percs that seemed to stop swimming when the lights went out. I fretted forever, they were always fine in the morning.

mine does the exact same thing at night, they are just sleeping so nothing to worry about, unless they are breathing heavily. turn on the light and back to work they go (acting cute and funny). If they are newly introduce they will stay one place for a while then start to explorer give them time. And you can tell if a clown host anything by rubbing aganist it. They are not hosting if they are just hanging out in one place.

yeah thanks everyone. today as soon as the lights went on they are out and exploring the tank. They really are cute little fish, im just raising them as they are just babies and will soon outgrow this tank. I kept turning on the lights last night to check on them and they were always rubbing against the powerhead..one clownfish actually laid on it, half out of the water! but right now i am watching them happily forage the tank, so its all good
