Hello everyone i would just like to show my newest tank to everyone. I got a deal on a whole lot of babies so i've been selling them off at cost on our local reefing forum and am down to around 20 or so now.. I realize long term i wont be able to keep all the clowns together but for now its pretty neat.

Heres some video

and heres some photos

Aside from having too many clowns in that tank, it is a very nice setup!

Thanks, i wouldnt call it too many as of yet tho.. whats the difference if they are in this 50G tank.. or the 10G bare bottom they were in last week at the breeders.. like i said in my first post, i have been slowly re homing them and plan to until i get down to a few (which i know wont work long term anyways) i might have to switch them up with a nice mated pair of something a bit more unusual than percs.

I love it. What type of anemones are in that tank.

all bubble tip anemones, i've collected a few "morphs" over the last year or two, theres the standard rbta, a rose one with a green base, 2 different types of flame tip, a green, and a purple, most have split a few times, the purple one i just picked up at the LFS recently.

Really, really awesome tank, I love it! Strange request, any chance you could post some smaller images that I could pin to a board on pinterest? I like to keep photos of really cool tanks to go back and get ideas when I'm setting up a new aquarium, and with pinterest, I get the link back to the reefer's thread(I used to save them to my computer with the forum name and username, lol!)

Check out the sticky above on mobert's aquarium. She had dozens of clowns in a tank for like 5 years. For all I know the tank's still up. The field of green and red btas is most striking.

I thought clowns that are born and raised together can live together. Is the tank too small when they get bigger?

edit: I saw the sticky as well

Yes that is a very nice tank isnt it? i believe it is fairly large and that is probably the reason it has been so successful.

Its possible, but i dont know for sure, nor do i think long term success can be had with this many clown fish in my tank personally. its just neat for now. im going to roll with it and if things get aggressive ill go a different route and get a nice big pair of something a bit more rare than percs.

Thank you, worked like a charm :D I've been having problems with photo bucket too, it will upload, but won't transfer to the library...now, the app is working fine. Go figure.
Hehe, hope I can help! You should start a thread, all the hubby's and BFs would love you..."get your wives/girlfriends to follow reefing boards on pinterest! Stealth marketing at it's finest!"

can you tell us a little more about the set up?

Thanks

Theres not much to it really, the tank is a 50 Breeder so its 36x18x18 i believe with a 20G long sump, running a skimmer and about 500gph for return, its lit by a single AI Sol. Crushed coral substrate, the anemoens and rock came from my main display tank, i had alot of SPS corals in there and it was only a matter of time until an anemone went for a walk and took them out so i decided to move them all to a dedicated tank. Anything else just ask and i'd be happy to reply.

well i had a major setback, a heater broke in the sump and cooked the tank for a few hours, i nursed the anemones back to health in the sump of my main display tank knowing the water quality there would help a bunch... all and all i didnt loose any fish or anemones.. a few weeks have passed and all is normal, some of the anemones have lost some color but all is back on track
