Where are the closest reef's to the US to see clownfish and anemone's in a snorkel or scuba dive? I have this on my 'bucket list' but not sure where I should plan a trip.

Probably the Philippines would be the most convenient due to more frequent flights there than many other regions? Just FYI: there aren't any in Hawaii but I'm sure you knew that already.

Closest to the West Coast would be Tahiti/French Polynesia. It's about 7 hours. You'll see TONS of magnificas there - reef loads.

Hawaii doesn't have any.

Samoa/Tonga/Fiji are going to be next closest. Depending where you land you're talking 9-10 hours from LAX. (Samoa being closest)

Not near the US, but my wife and I visited the Maldives and took a few shots of A. Nigripes in some Magnifica anemones while we were there. Needless to say, I was SUPER excited when I saw them. :) I have a few more pics if anyone is interested.
