Clownfish breeders, please help!

Great thanks, he's in his own 10 gallon now and i'm using an API Antibiotic that I got from petsmart because nobody local had nitrofuran. But i did order some so I have it incase this doesn't work. Thanks for all the help.
Here is a pic of the babys now at about 20 days old just to keep you updated. Looks like 6 of them are going to be platinum. They have a complete white head and the rest of the body is a translucent white. Pretty cool looking.

Bill, Is it normal to have a few dieoffs during growout? About a week ago I woke up one morning and had 3 dead....they were all still in the larvae tank up to this point. I check parameters and nitrite had spiked. I had the growout ready anyways, so I moved them all to the growout and they have been there for the last 4 days without any problems. Woke up this morning and head 2 more dead but the rest seem fine and they all seem to eat well. Nothing abnormal with water quality that I can find at all this time.

So i'm wondering if this is normal, maybe just dieoff of the weaker offspring, or if there is probably something wrong. I started with about 75 juvies, lost about 10 throught the first few days, and then didn't loose another one until last week.

i'm no expert - but this is fairly normal. I've had babies die just from the changeover from rotifers to ohto/bbs. For your first time - 75 is an incredible achievement in my opinion.

Clownfish are mean. You are going to get bullying and the smaller juveniles are going to drop off one at a time, especially if you go more than 5 hours between feedings. Plus some fish just die no matter what.

In my experience there are basically 2 scenarios that can happen when you are dealing with 75 juveniles in a confined space. Either:

A. The aggression is spread out evenly enough that no fish takes lethal damage or...

B. The harem decides to collectively pick on the weakest member and you can anticipate losing a juvenile every single day until you are left with 4-6 adults out of the original 75.

This is why some breeders like to sell their fish as young as 4 months. They take daily loses if they hold onto their inventory indefinitely.
