Yes, congratulations.

If you are a NOOBE i would try raising the fry, Its good food for your tank.

any advice on trying to raise them?

congrats, definately a nest and looks like a first try for them. I wouldn't both trying to raise them this time. However; there is a lot you can learn from this first nest.

The eggs will (assuming your tank parameters are stable) hatch in the same number of days easch time. So, keep track of how long it takes for this nest to hatch. You'll need to know how long it takes the eggs to hatch if you decide to raise them in the future. It usually takes 8-12 days and you can watch the fry develop in the eggs, the eggs will start changing color and then you'll eventually be able to see silver reflections (eyes) in all the eggs the day of hatch. They will likely hatch within a few minutes of the tank going dark.

You will need another tank set up with water, a heater and air to try and raise them.

The most difficult part is trying to feed the babies. They eat live rotifers for the first week or so. The rotifers need phytoplankton to survive long enough to feed your baby fish.

You really need to buy the book "Clownfishes" by Joyce Wilkerson. She gives a lot of info on raising your babies and how to grow rotifers etc.

Over time the nests will be better feritlized and larger.

Good luck.

if you dont remove them from the parents they will eat them just before they hatch, thats what mine did so good luck.

Assuming you are feeding your fish properly the parents will only eat non-viable eggs. Usually the female lays a fairly tight nest and it looks like yours have already culled a number of non-fertilized eggs. Don't worry, as he get more experience he'll get more of the eggs fertilized. Also, she will lay more eggs over time.

thanks for the information guys.

you can tell where some of them were that have been removed already but in the last 24 hours it doesn't look like they've taken anymore off.

I don't think I'm going to try and raise these, I don't want to attemp something I'm not ready for and get stressed out about it not too mention end up spending money on something that might not work.

well, the eggs will hatch in less than 12 days and it will take longer than that to get your rotifers up and running so don't worry about it. They should keep laying once they start as long as they're happy.

Get the book, then start a greenwater (phytoplankton) culture to feed your rotifers. Then buy some rotifers and in a month or so you're ready to go. Most folks don't succeed on their first attempt. I tried 2, the first time I had my heater malfunction and cook them all. Then I tried without rotifers and had 100% fatality by day 3. Then my clowns got in a fight and quit breeding.... oh well. I'm trying again.
