clownfish eggs

What type of clown is it. They could be red or gold colored. If they are eggs they will hatch in about a week give or take a day. Being attached to a shell sounds about par for them but they won't make it in the tank, you have to take them out and raise them.

This is what they will look like when they are first laid, and as they get closer to hatching they will become silver in color, and should be able to see the eyes if you look close enough.

They are Perc, yea that is what they look like....

They are attached to a ginormous conch shell...

is it possible to scrape them off with a net or would that kill them?

The clownfish would go ballistic if I took that shell out of the tank.

No, you can't scrape them off without damaging them. You can catch them when they hatch by getting a fry catcher and put a flashlight over it and hold it and wait for them to enter it. Get Joyce Wilkerson's book on clowns and she tells you how to raise them. Don't feel like you have to raise these, do the research and see if it's really what you want to do...good luck.

I'd take the shell out if your going to rear them. Scraping them off with a net would definately kill them.
