I witnessed my clowns feeding "their" anenome this weekend. I dropped in a small chunk of silverside and missed**. The larger percula (female ?) of the pair swooped down, picked it up, and put the treat in the nem's mouth. The anenome was too slow to grab hold of the piece, and it fell out. The clown picked it up again and placed it deeper into the anenome tentacles. The invert greedily folded itself around the meat and devoured it.
I think it's amazing that captive-bred clowns that had never seen an anenome before, could instinctively host in, defend, and then figure out how to feed a captive fission-propagated BTA.
** I missed the anenome with the silverside because one of the little clowns $#@%&* attacked me and made me drop the meaty treat.
