Clownfish HELP!!

Ok so my new super premium expensive grade A super frostbite reverse snowflake :deadhorse: clownfish pair is struggling.

First I think they are possibly paired. They swim together and dont fight at all.

Now the issue I see is the smaller of the two is breathing heavy, looks malnourished even though he eats like champion. And I can see his lines on the sides of his body (not sure what theyre called).

I also notice that he seems to be struggling to stay afloat. He looks like he has to beat his fins much faster/harder than the larger(female?) to stay in the same spot like he doesnt have a float bladder or something.

So is this fish defective any treatment options?

Looking malnourished could mean intestinal parasites. Are you noticing any stringy white poop?

I don't know what "lines on the sides of his body" means. A pic of this might help. I would also review the symptoms of Brooklynella (here) to rule that out as a possibility.

YES he did have a stringy white poop I noticed it twice it was kinda stuck to him. but that was on the first 2 days havent seen it since and I've had them for 10 days now. I dont think its brooklynella, water conditions are good and the other fish is perfectly healthy. The condition is only affecting the one male.


The lines I am referring to would be just his skeletal (cartliage whatever..) frame showing through as in malnourished.

Stringy white poop can mean gill flukes or intestinal parasites. But since you say he looks skinny, I would lean more towards intestinal parasites. This medication is probably your best bet, as it treats both flukes & intestinal parasites.
