i have two percs and they have hosted in my green goniopora i have moved the gono, and they find it and i keep moving it but i was want to know if there was anything i could do and will it kill my coral?

I had a clown host in mine. To make a long story short the clown ended up killing it.

That's the usual ending to that story.
For whatever reason, clownfish are very attracted to goniopora, and will often host in it until it's dead.
It's hard to say sometimes if the clowns actually killed it, or just sped up the demise since goniopora don't tend to do all that well anyway.

My dumb perc' just started doing this a few days ago, she was hosting my star polyp, and yellow polyp mats, but now has found the Goniopora. I had an anemone in the tank for 6 months till it got too big, didn't even go near it.
My Goniopora has been doing well for over 8+ months now since I got it. It's about the size of a softball when fully open, with a large globe and a smaller globe.

The perc' hosting my goniopora has now been removed and taken to the LFS. :sad2:
In it's place I picked up a Fire Fish Goby and Mandarin FIsh (believed to be female by my observations). So I guess all is not lost.
I'm hoping this Mandarin will do well, the last one (pre refuge) did not last more then a week; but I think it was something else going on there, as it was rock picking all the time. And hopefully the Fire Fish won't jump out. LOL Gee, I am having good luck eh'?

Various suicides, demise, and supper aggression plague me, and now stupidity of a sudo hosting. LOL Nemo has left the building...

even in a 75g unless you are particularly raising pods I would consider supplementing his diet.

Well I've got the fuge now, and a butt load of macro needing to be trimmed weekly. And the tank has been running for 2 years now. So I'd hope things are OK for it. And yes I have added live pod's before, not that brand but still live pods.

Mandarinfish are supposed to pick at the rocks, it's where their prey live during the day.
A fuge isn't necessary to keep a mandarinfish alive, but near perfect water, lots of live food (pods), and a well established tank are all vital to their success. I've got one who's been fat and healthy in my tank for five months now, and he won't eat packaged foods at all, he's gotta have those live pods. From what I've read most of them are like that, the won't eat anything but live. I keep my reef well fed with cyclopeeze and marine bioplankton to keep the full biological cycle going and there are more pods in my tank every time I peek in there after lights out with a flashlight.
But you are right that there most likely was something going on with your first mandarinfish because a starvation death on a fish like that would take weeks or months, although there is no telling how long it was since he had eaten while he was at your LFS.

Just an update, the Fire Fish jumped with in 24 hours... Sigh..
But the Mandarin is swimming all over the reef, picking all over my rocks. So I hope all is well.
