Clownfish ID

What type of clownfish is this? Is it White Striped maroon clown?

This is my first fish and around 1.5 inches. If i don't find a similiar one at LFS, can i pair it up with Ocellaris? What size should i get the newer fish (same or Ocellaris)? same size or a bigger one?

Yep, it's a pretty white-striped maroon.

I would suggest you not put an ocellaris with the maroon. The maroon would likely end up terrorizing the ocellaris. BTW, maroons are the largest of the clownfish species and ocellaris are next to the smallest.

Definitely a maroon clown and cannot be "paired" with an ocellaris clown. You may get them to co-exist, but they do not pair.

That is the largest one I have ever seen was nearly 6" and she is over 7 years old...

That is a maroon, potentially a gold stripe depending on how old it is...I would wait a little while for it to get bigger, about a 1/2" or so larger, and then get another...

I am not sure if i should get second one now or wait for a 2-3 months to get another...

I had plans to get one more this week or next, depending on my LFS stock.

Should i wait or get one now? Any recommendation on size of ne one?

get one now and get one that is smaller @ around 1 inch or less.

chances are greater now that they will pair up being a male/female pair than later when you may end up with 2 females that fight non-stop,

Looks like there are many factors that affect the pairing. Reading the post refrenced, there seems to be a possibility of pairing up with Ocellaris..

Experts please advice on when i should get a new clownfish, which one? and what size?
