Clownfish infection

I bought a pair of wild true percs and the bigger of the two had a small red patch on its chin. I put the fish in a quarantine tank and treated with maracyn plus for the past four days, treating on day on and day three after a water change. After day one of treatment the red turned to white and now there is a fuzzy looking bump under his chin. It almost looks like lymphocystis but I know that it is not, because it is far too large and continues to grow.

Sorry for the bad pics, but this is mine:

This isnt my pic, but it looks a lot like what this one has on its chin:

My fish is interested in food, puts it in his mouth, and spits most of it back out.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Does the fish have other symptoms such as rapid mouth movements, not eating, erratic swimming, swimming at the top and gasping for air, loss of color, frayed fins, slime from gills or mouth, spots can be on body or fins, lesions, etc.? Any of these symptoms can be a sign of parasites such as Ich or Brooklynella. Wild clowns often have Brook. The only treatment for Brook is Formalin, 37%, baths. Formalin is also a treatment for Ich although copper is the preferred treatment. Get yourself some Formalin and be prepared to setup a QT tank. If one of your fish have parasites then ALL have parasites even if they exhibit no symptoms. Your tank also is infected and must remain fallow, fishless, for eight weeks. Do a Google search on treatments, setting up a QT tank and Formalin baths.

The fish has been in quarentine since I got her. I have been treating with maracyn plus and and doing water changes every second day, as well as re dosing. The problem hasn't gotten any better.

The fish does not show other signs of stress. There is no gasping, water quality is great, fish eats but only select frozens. Other than this white fuzzy growth, the fish is acting normal. I am familiar somewhat with fish disease and I can tell for sure it is not ich or brook. I haven't ruled out lympho quite yet but I'm almost certain that it is not that either.

It is worth mentioning that I noticed some of this white growth on the inside of her mouth also.

looks like marine cotton this is not the tech term obviously . how ever i have treated it in the past with melafix and pima fix combined..,this is a more natural route of treatment..however you may wish to try myrcin 2... there are two infections have this same distinct cotton effect one is bacterial the other is fungal without a scraping its hard to determine which is which.

On the chart I referenced in my previous posting, the last two boxes asked, "Do you see grey/white stringy material covering areas of the body? Are there grey/white filmy patches on the body?" and "Do you see cotton-like distinct tufts on the fins, mouth, or body of the fish?" In your case, you would have to answer "YES" to both question which says your fish has either a bacterial or fungus infection. The chart shows you that a common cure for either one is "Marine-Aid". So if I were you, I would get a bottle of Marine-Aid by FishVet and treat my fish.

I did a dip in formalin for 40 min yesterday, and the clown seemed to shed some of the growth on the outside of its chin, but there is still some of that cotton like material inside her mouth. I am currently treating with maroxy in her QT which is a true fungus medication.
