Clownfish pairing

I currently have a single occelaris clown. I have had her for nearly year. I have been thinking of getting her a mate possibly, and I have a few questions.
One, is it even a good idea to attempt to get her a companion at this point or will it just end badly? I would be getting a baby sized fish for the best chances.
Two, does it have to be the same species, or can I try with another similar clown? like a snowflake or something like that...
Three, would it help to add an anemone?

Thanks for any input! Just trying to do a little research before I get my heart set :)

1. Pairing shouldn't be an issue unless this individual turns out to be too aggressive for the other clown. So long as the new clownfish is smaller, you shouldn't have too much of an issue.

2. The other clownfish does not have to be the same "pattern" as you current fish. While you could pair it with a percula (or any of the "designers" in the species, such as onyx, picasso, platinum, etc.), I advise against it and sticking with the same species. With the ocellaris species there are several "designers" like the snowflake, fancy white, Wyoming White, naked, etc. that can be paired with it.

3. Adding an anemone shouldn't have much of an impact if any on the pairing process.

Thank you so much! I don't really want an anemone since they have a nasty sting and a bad habit of not staying put so I'm glad for that! Ill start looking for a mate :)

Is there anything special I should do to acclimate the two? I have low rock work with lots of nooks and cranies so catching a problem fish is not an option I want to take. I have seen some people use the small plastic critter cages, I may get one just to have one hand.

nothing you need to do, when the new clown is ready to be added to the tank just pum him in. there will be bickering ad a little fighting but nothing to worry about, the female is just telling the new one who's boss.
