I have a young pair of picasso perculas, about 1 year old, that are from the same clutch. I want to expand the gene pool and I have a chance to pick up a nice male picasso that is about 2 years old. I think I know which one is the female from my pair. I want to replace my male with the new older male. Do you guys think that this is ok? My major concern is that the new male is larger that my existing female.

The two year clown if it was by itself for awhile could be in a process of becoming a female...
I would pair the smaller of the clown with the two year old clown... Or throw all three into the same tank and see how they react towards eachother... Your two smaller clowns might still be male who knows... If the two year old is much bigger it will become female. And the next dominant clown will become male...

Good luck
