I happened to notice my clownfish cleaning off the rock where they have been spawning and thought I would try something...so I put a piece of tile in that space, in hopes they would spawn on the tile instead of the rock...this way, when I am ready to try raising them, I will be able to simply pull the tile out instead of having to try and remove the babies from the rock.
Literally, an hour or two after putting the tile in there, they began spawning on the piece. The female moves across the rock laying the eggs in rows, and the male follows up fertilizing them. Fascinating to watch happen in a home aquarium!
I took a video and thought I would share it...they are still going at it now, even after the lights went out in the tank. Its been almost 2hrs so far....many more eggs since they started. I will try to get a picture in the morning of the total spawn.
