Clownfish...why?!

Is this normal? I have 2 false percs that do NOT leave the back corner . It's not even the glass corner, it's the corner of the overflow and the back glass. All they do is lay sideways and sometimes wedge in the corner and shake for a second. The male actually likes to float at the surface for hours like he's dead.

They weren't like this when I had them in the biocube, but ever since it putt hem in the 125, they really suck haha. They've even recruited one of the anthias to join in on the nonsense. I swear the anthias thinks it's a clown fish. I really think the stupidness is contagious.

Anyone have any ideas on how to get them to move around? I can't get an anemone yet, but I don't think they'll host even if I did. I see all these clown fish in other tanks swimming all around playing, and all mine do is play dead and eat...*** lol

I love never seen eggs or anything back there. If they were, wouldn't they be protective over the spot? The anthias is usually in the mix.

Sounds like they are hosting that area of the tank. Well, that area of the tank is hosting them.

could be just shy to much flow or electric in the tank what do they do when u feed the tank.or a bully tank mate

They are fearful of the larger space. they feel exposed and are seeking shelter in the corner.

This is common with clownfish that are aquacultured. They grow up in bare tanks with hundreds of other clownfish, then moved into a customers tank that has lots of open space and no other clownfish to hide with. often you'll get clownfish that try hiding in the corners.

Soo they're not getting bullied, no one pays them any attention. I've had them for almost 2 years and they were fine in the old tank. As far as electric goes I have all kinds of probes and stuff in the tank and I'm not getting any alarms so I don't think stray voltage is the problem.

I do feed them where they hang out all day. That's what the ring is in the pictures. They've only been in the tank for maybe 3 months though. Is this something that will go away with time? Should I get them something to host in a few months?

Mine did that when moved into a larger tank (from 55 to 185). They stayed in on basic location which happened to be the corner of the tank. I even got an anemone and they stayed in the corner. One got sick and died and the other stayed in the corner for about a year until one day I came down in the morning and couldn't find her in her corner. She had finally found the anemone and has been in it ever since. I recently got her a new little buddy and they have been mating and laying eggs every few weeks, non stop for the past several months.

Hmm, I'm not sure if mine are tank bred clowns. I thought if they were and you put a nem in there they wouldn't be able to host it, so I've always been fearful of it. I can't have one for a while anyway, but maybe I could try one. I really need to get my nitrates down, I've tried everything and it's just not working so far.
