Clownfish with white stringy poop

Our b/w clownfish, now 7 total, haven't been eating and been having white stringy poop for about a week. We put them in our QT with coppersafe and general cure 4 days ago and they are not looking any better, we actually lost one last night.. We don't want to lose anymore, anyone have any suggestions on what to do?

We've tried mixing garlic with their pellets and brine shrimp to get them to eat but that didn't work.. We freshwater dipped one, which died a few hours later..

We are grasping at straws here.. pleasee help! :worried:

Don't just throw meds, especially copper, at fish without knowing what you're treating. This may be an internal parasite, they are quite common. I'd remove the meds with carbon & WCs and treat all of your fish with a wormer, like Prazi-Pro. BTW. I assume these clowns are juvis; as they mature and pair off, they are going to battle non-stop. usually, only one pair of mated clowns can exist in a tank.

I agree on all aspects. Doing things to do things is not an effective way at all. Two clownfish per tank long term is all you get.

We never planned on keeping the clowns, we were going to sell all but two of them. And the guy at the LFS said for us to mix the meds. The the general cure says it treats the symptoms the fish were having but we finished the treatment and did a water change and added carbon last night but they still look very bad..

Can you post a better description of the symptoms? The pale poop problem is all we have to go on. A pic may really help.

I'll try and get a picture of them, but their other symptoms besides long white/clear stringy poop are: not eating, lethargic(basically laying on the bottom of the tank),gasping, and just recently(since we put them in the HT) 1 or 2 of them have white patches on them it doesn't really look like ich/brooklynella to me though.

I think it's parasites and maybe even some skin flukes.

You need to do a massive water change to get rid of the copper and dose prazi pro ASAP. Please don't listen to your local store, they already gave you bad advice.

+1 on Prazi-Pro. I've also used Seachem Focus and Seachem Metro meds to soak foods for internal parasitic infections.

I'd also add an airstone and increase surface water agitation to better oxygenate the tank.

I added a bunch of carbon to the tank and the next morning the only surviving clownfish was swimming around and is starting to eat a little. Thanks for the help!

Try raising your qt temp to 80 degrees for two days then increase it to 82 degrees sound like the clown fish has a stomach parsite creating gas in the stomach that's why the clownfish is not wanting to eat
