so i have a mated pair of gold banded maroon clowns, yes one of the most aggressive kind i know, was wondering if i took them out the tank for a few days and added a pair of Black and white clowns in if things would go ok or is this a no go?

or just 1 single black and white clown cuz 2 pairs prolly would be bad so maybe just 1 Black and white

Me too.^^^^^ Also agree with Korrine's "Go Pack". A long time ago, before I learned to QT everything, I had a female maroon kill a new maroon while it was still floating in the bag from the lfs. I wouldn't try to keep any other clowns with a mated pair of maroons under any circumstances and no matter how big the tank. (Sure, there's an exception somewhere.)

ah ok i just read that the black and white ones could be kept with other clowns so wasnt sure if there was a way to keep them with maroons but i figured that it wouldnt work

Maroon's are one of the, if not the most, aggressive clownfish. They are so beautiful, but yet so territorial!

All clowns are very territorial, and as they mature pretty much always will end up w/ just one pair unless your tank is huge.
Groups of clowns are from same clutch, and even that is tricky, can come w/ some picking off.

Dave, I was thinking they are both pretty much on same level of aggression too no matter what variation of color.

Well, in the ocean, I have had a pair of maroon clowns try to pick off me. And trust me, I am not a small person. Not as bad as Titan triggerfish, but still, fearsome.

LOL, I had a clown trigger in Mex that would NOT stop hitting my mask, guess it was attacking it's reflection, but still, had 0 concern for me.

It was a place called "The Wall", Santa Rosalita, about 10 hours drive south of the border.
It was extremely murky, my ID could be wrong on what trigger, but it was a trigger, black and yellow w/ spots.
