clowns and damsels

Can i put two clowns and a damsel in a 25 gallon tank. with 1 shrimp, 5 snails, and 5 hermits. or is that two much what could i take out.

2 clowns and a damsel would be fine in 25 gallon tank.I have a maroon clown and yellow tail damsel in my 30 gallon,and they are fine together.

yes they are (some are less then others)......I would skip the damsels.....IMO

Not all are. Do a search and you'll see.
One in particular that is very peaceful is the Azure Damsel.

"Clownfish" is a hobbyist term for anemonefishes, which are a subset of damsels.

Not all damsels are agressive, my Talbot's is a little sweetheart. Some clowns are more agressive than others as well. It would be easier to answer your question if you had two particular species in mind

The 3 striped is very aggrasive. I have a 75 gal tank and had a 3 strip and 2 perclua clownfish and a royal gamma and the 3 strip kill all 3 fish. All 3 fish was about twice the size of the 3 strip fish. Since then I move the 3 strip into it own 20 gal tank with some hermit crabs and snails.

I have a 1 3 stripe in my 75 with a pair of Clarkiis, the 3 stripe never is allowed to leave its side of the tank, and even then the clarkii with sometime still chase it.

I think you are referring to the domino damsel??

I have 2 clowns(mated tomatos) and 2 damsels(yellow tail) in a 55 g reef and it seems "crowded" to me.... I have had no real problems, although they do pick on each other some times. If you are running FO or FOWLR the bioload wouldn't really be an issue, just territorial issues IMO...

i have a yellow tail that is a little bigger than my pair of clowns and he pretty much controls one half of the tank and the clowns have the other... when I added my black ocellaris, the ocellaris that had been in the tank before him naturally started picking at him for a while, then when the damsel came around, the older ocellaris stopped messing with the new clown and protected him from the damsel... so who knows.. might help with pairing? btw... 4 stripe and 3 stripe damsels suck... meanest little **** ever....
