hey guys hope you guys can help me solve the problem. I have a pair of clarkii clowns in my 40 gallon i have had them for about a month in a half they were best friends swimming together and always hanging out i am able to see that one is the female due to her dominance as well as her tail has a white stripe where the smaller one has a yellowish stripe that indicates it is either a male or still a juvi neither is bigger then 2.5in. A few days ago i added a BTA tot he tank and at first they were both in it but now the bigger one who seems to be the female is not allowing the smaller to get near the BTA nor anywhere it continues to chase the smaller one all around the tank even when i feed them or the smaller one is not doing anything why is this happening and what can i do.

How are they now? Anything is possible with individual fish but This doesn't sound that abnormal. I had a similar experience in my with adding a nem with my pair of perc's. It may take a while but they will sort it out.

Btw, that was some run-on sentence. :)

I had exactly the same reaction with my clarkii when I introduced an anemone in the tank. It took more than a week for them to go back to normal also i noticed that my female got bigger faster (not sure if these events are related). Don't worry it will go back to normal sooner than you think, just be patient.
