Clowns being finicky eaters

We recently got two clownfish that are doing well in our tank, but they are very finicky eaters. They spit out mysis shrimp and pellets thus far. As if they are too big for them. I've tried flaking the mysis so it's small enough but they don't seem to realize it's feeding time or just ignore it all together. Is there a good method of developing a feeding schedule and what do you guys feed your clowns? Or at least finicky ones? They are on the smaller side and the smaller of the two has a lot more trouble eating bigger foods.

Mine are the same way. They eat the cheap garlic infused food better than anything.

What are the brands you buy? We have resorted to bloodworms for the past two days because it's the only thing they will eat and our favorite LFS is out of brine shrimp. We kind of planned on trying a few different things, but didn't know if anyone had something they recommended.

Mine love Prime Reef flakes and Sustainable Aquatics Hatchery Diet pellets. I feed them twice a day. Pellets in the morning and flakes in the evening.

When mine were tiny, they would eat flake(Seachem marine), and the tiny NLS pellets.

While they don't care for the flakes anymore, they still readily gobble up the NLS pellets. Everything in my tank, including corals, love NLS pellets.

Just out of curiosity what were they eating at the LFS before you purchased them? If anything, use that first and then try and pepper in some of the others foods over time. Hopefully they'll come around.

I've been meaning to ask them. They do eat small bits of the mysis as well as the blood worms. I have crushed up pellets that they will eat as well, but I imagine I need to figure out what they were on before.

Watch feeding them bloodworms and make sure you use a reputable brand. I've had fish die from that food.

Any picky clown will give in to the taste for frozen brine shimp. Put a small amount of tank water in a solo cup, cut a frozen cube in 1/2 or 1/3 of it size, swirl, wait a couple of minutes, swirl, suck up shrimp with syringe or balaster and squirt into tank.

If they want to live. They will eat. Just sayin...
