Clowns in a Nano

I have a 12 gallon w. frogspawn and three peaceful fish,if I added two common clowns would there be too many fish in my nano?

I have 5 fish in my 75, the biggest being a coral beauty. I think I'm almost to the max. I can't imagine 5 fish (peaceful or not) in a 12 gallon

Yes, that would be to much especially with your current algae problem.

Considering that you already have 3 in there -- no, it would be a bad idea to add them.

Though I have a feeling your "scooter blenny" won't be alive long term, given the food requirements of them.

Years. It could take about a month for it to decimate the pod population.

Before I lost my Mandarin I had had it for 5 + years.

In my opinion the amount of fish your 12g can handle depends on the filtration and maintence you do on the tank. To me three SMALL fish in a 12g is fine adding two more clowns would probaly push it over the limit. If you did a 1 gallon water change every three days, I bet you could keep your nitrates, ammonia....etc. down. To me more importantly is the actual room for the fish, 5 fish in a 12g would be a little crowded considering how active clowns are. What are your other three fish? Also instead of adding any other fish you could think about adding a shrimp(s), they are also fun to watch.

Dr. pepper?????? And if you are saying that the scooter will live a happy life in a 12 gallon nano, you are mistaken.

The shrimp having eggs will not add to the life expectancy of a scooter dragonette in a 12 gallon nano.

If you already have an algae problem, you need to focus on fixing that in my opinion, not trying to add more fish. I agree that the scooter will not survive long term in that small of a tank, and I highly suggest that you either give it to a friend with a big tank or trade it back to a LFS. They are highly specialized feeders, and in that small of a tank a large enough pod population is not going to be sustainable.
