clowns shaking

my clowns have hosted their bta a week ago. about the second day they started kind of shaking or vibrating. mostly one, the one that hosted first, but the other has done it occassionally.

is this a mating thing? a territorial thing?

How long have you had them? Is one larger than the other?

Generally this is a signal that they're establishing the female and male roles within the pair. Congrats!

Generally the male is the one that does most of the shaking, though I've occasionally seen the female do it.

The male is just showing submission to the female. Kinda cool to watch. My female will chase her male away from her but then he slowly swims back and does his little wiggle dance. If he wiggles enough they are buddies again for awhile.

mine seem to be doing the opposite.

The larger stays closeto the BTA, and when the smaller comes near it shakes

My small one shakes sometimes just for good measure...to make sure she's happy then pecks her on the cheek.
