well Ive been through the qt thing but its been a few years. so I bought a pair of clowns, this pair is from an LFS that they got from someone who traded them in. The pair was in the tank for 3 years and they are some of the largest ocellaris I've seen.

Here is the question:
Ive had them in QT (no treatment yet) for 24hrs just to observe and I've noticed that they have white stringy poop and they are not eating.

So the way I figure it is that they picked something up while back at the lfs, cause he got 2 shipments in while they were with him.

I have methyle blue on hand

Please advise how I should treat:

Just googled this and first article pretty good.

Stress can cause white poop. For a fish, stress is bad water quality or changes in water parameters. Measure for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and pH. Check the temperature. Aggressive tank mates may also lead to stress, as can illness and medication. Moving to a new tank or the addition of new tankmates can also cause stress.
Hexamita The parasite hexamita, that can attack internal organs, very often causes white stringy poop. Feed the fish anti-parasite food that contains metrodonidazole.

Infection Bacterial infections can lead to stringy white poop. Before acting check for other signs of infection (redness, lethargy, lack of appetite).

Well to describe myself i dont consider my self to knowledge able but i do like to do research and read about desease and treatments and learn about everything with this hobby. I was on my lunch break yesterday and theirs a petco across the street from my work and i saw garlic. Its a additive to food that makes finicky eaters eat. Try soaking some food in this supplement and the bottle says to let it drie in the food. tHen feed the fish. Its specifically for fish that are having trouble eating. Just another idea. I have a gut feeling this wil work for ya.
