I don't what many of these corals everyone is mentioning are, but I like the idea, and it would be a nice perk to drum up new members. Especially if someone's on the fence, they come to a meeting and see <insert expensive coral name here> up for raffle, but they can't participate because they are not a club member.

I just say start doing it. I'm seeing the start of a paralysis by analysis going on with this.

So I want to go ahead and move forward with this project. At first we will rely on donations to get this started. The exact details will be worked out by the BoD after the holidays. If you have something special that you would like to donate to this cause please contact me. Thank you to everyone for your input on this idea.

Bump!

We are moving forward with this project after the BoD meeting this past Saturday. We are setting up a small committee to oversee this project. It will be several months before anyone sees any fruit from this project, but that is how this will have to go. WE need to acquire frags and allow them the time to grow before any frags from those frags will be ready.

We discussed charging a fee per coral checked out of the library, but instead we decided to make participation open with a buy in and then the frags won will be given without any monetary donation required. That is how we are going to run it for now and we can always adjust it depending on feedback.

We are not using any club funds to do this. Everything is coming from private donations and those that would like to buy into this are welcome to do so, but no one has to by any means.
