Club light meter?

Hey madkat, just wanted to let you know Im not so sure I think a par meter is a good measurement for LED. Mine red 100 at the tops of the rock and I had coral turning ultraviolet (the tips were supposed to do this but not the whole coral!) I have ended up raising the light as high as I can and everything has colored perfectly now. That would mean I have something closer to like a par of 50 or maybe even less but the corals (sps) are not behaving like there isnt much light. It actually scorched some lower light corals like my cyphastrea until I raised the light

There is a report by Apogee regarding the measuring capacity of the PAR meters. They report measuring difficulties due to the wavelengths with a variance of up to 20% in either direction depending upon the mixes of rgb and white.

Every coral in my tank loves the new light! Except my rainbow colored ricordea. He is on the sand and started bleaching on the edges. Shoved him under a ledge and he is coloring back up. Blue one was next to him and he loves it. It is strange how some corals, even the same species like more light.

The monti is about 12 inches from the light rails and has doubled in 2 weeks. Gonna have to start a frag program just on monti's
