club policy?

I don't believe you would ever change your policy on this it's to bad others have acted so unprofessionally, I believe this policy is a great loss for the club and the hobby in general.

Like I said, in the coming weeks I will be in touch with all of our sponsors and other LFS's to get their feelings on the record. Keith, I would hope you wouldn't pull your sponsorship because we don't allow LFS owners to attend as "hobbyists".

I would not based on that alone, it your policy and how I feel about it personally is just that a personal opinion. There are other questions I have but would prefer to talk about offline.

This is a quote from a PM sent to me by Eric Coreefer, and my replay follows. Nice to have met you all, I know the club has some great members maybe some of us can still keep in touch. I dont wish to be involved anymore, sorry.

There may be some issues if the people are who I think they may be.

There is a history with this club and RMRC that is not very good. I need to know specifics.

thanks

well you know it sounds like this club is not for me, I cant deal with the issues involved, I wanted a friendly meeting. I dont see it heading that way.

Regards, Chris

I think everyone needs to take a deep breath and step back from this a bit.
This is getting out of hand and blown way out of proportion, and no need to loose members over it.

This is coming from a guy who basically ran Robert through the ringer over this months meeting. If it's not for you I am sorry, but I just asked who you were inviting..why even ask me?? If it's not for you then I am sorry. I find it funny that things have been fine up until the last 4 days in which we have watched Robert step aside...

I've been tagging along......I'm sure some of you want to put this thread to bed........my two cents.

Why can't there be local events to show off our LFS's and our basement producers of quality frags and/or equipment and/or food? Colorado Springs is only a few minutes further than Downtown Denver for me yet I don't even know the name of a single shop south of 470.

I am in the boat that a diversity approach would build the strongest club. This includes all types of people and organizations. LFS's with a genuine interest in being successful would undoubtedly want to participate. Meager stores would be at home on the couch. Smart LFS's would of course find ways of making money in the whole deal. More power to them if they can find a better way to cater to their customers than their competitors. Also, some of these stores probably want access to our frags as much as we would want access to theirs...maybe the LRC has something to offer them for their shelves and/or tanks.

I think CastleRock makes a good point. There is no need to bash each other over a simple difference in opinion. The he said she said they did stuff shouldn't even be posted. There have been good arguments on both sides of the original post, but its become far to heated and off topic. To much is being taken personally. Let it go for awhile. There is no reason to lose members over opinions.

So, whos ready to learn about some acrylic work? :)

After Erics other post in an open forum I am done with the SCMAS forum you will not see me post here again. To any I may have offended, please except my regrets. I had no agenda here, and surely did conspire with anyone to start this thread. I have made many friends through the club and hope I did not lose any over this. My wife and I, have one agenda and that is to further the knowledge of reef keeping our store is our outlet to do that. Anyone who like to know about the retail side of things is more than welcome to come talk to me away from here I will be happy to share I have nothing to hide or lose. Peace
