Club Purchase of a Band Saw

Hello Everyone,

I would like to let everyone know the board has decided to buy a band saw with club raffle money. The cost was $250. There was a reccomendation to buy a Par meter,but the thought was it would not get the use a band saw would for fragging corals for the club raffles.

It is really great to see a lot of new and old faces at the meetings and Thanks to everyone for donating to the raffle and making sure everyone goes home with a few corals for their investment in the raffle. As you can see the raffle really works.

If anyone has a sugeestion for spending club raffle funds (Keep it to yourself) Just kidding we are always looking for ways to improve your experience with the club so suggestions are always welcome.

Great idea! I have that green and white polyp undata you gave me that has totally grown over the plug and could easily be cut into 4 pieces 1 for me and 3 for whoever else wants one.

The saw was backordered but should be here on 6/5. Should be a nice addition to our propagation efforts. Good job everybody supporting the club.

How is the club handling the use of the bandsaw? I would like to chop up an acan and some chalices. Would like to offer a the same frag to the club on every piece cut.

We can probably set up a time and date maybe 1 or 2 hours before our regular club meeting and have members bringing corals to frag?

Mike, Once I have a chance to see how it works you could come up to my place. We'll just have to make sure you bring a decent amount of your tank water to use in the saw and for your frags.

Uh I've used one before and they make a hell of a mess so........No, I think not.

Tried the saw out. I was able to cut the concrete base of a baby blue/yellow polyp maricultured piece perfectly. Trimmed it into a mount about the size of a quarter and less than a 1/4 in thick. Saw works really well. If anybody wants to do some trimming give me a call I'm home most evenings.
