I'd be interested...it would be nice to put names to faces. It wouldn't have to be as formal as a swap, maybe coffee on the patio at a restaurant...
 
I am going to have a BBQ soon for everyone here soon, like next weekend or something like that. Especially for the people who helped me with the setup of my tank etc.
 
I like this idea of people wanting to meet up and become a real club. I have a buddy or two that would be interested!
We need to start something offical. Someone to take the idea and run with it! Whoever it is, put my name down that I'm in!

I think a lot of people are interested. we should start off small, maybe a coffee house or something like sillygoose said. Where does everybody live so I can try to find a cental location.

Guys we have tried this here in Tucson before and it always seems like people dont show up or have better things to do. But I am always in to try again and that is why I am planning a BBQ here in the next couple of weeks to get everyone here that wants to meet to come out. I think for right now that would be the best way. THose of us who want to have something like this work, open our houses to each other and meet trade or sell corals equipment and just talk fish. Plus at someones house we will have a tank to look at and comment on.
 
Sounds like a good plan! Also with your 450 gallon reef, that would be a great starting place! LOL... I will make the trip out there to mexico where you live...lol...
 
LOL Yeah its not that bad of a drive. And I am looking for Frags everyone, that I can buy off of you, so prepare some to bring out. How does next weekend sound for everyone?? Like next Sunday and whatever time works for everyone families are more than welcome, plus I have a Hot Tub if anyone wants to use that as well.
 
You can count me in! Any time works. I have a buddy that lives out there too. Just keep me posted... Also let me know what type of frags you are looking for.

Hey newcomers, we have always had very loose group meetings in the past, but ACRO is the only Tucson group that meets (if they are still doing it) on a regular basis. Check them out.

Another option is the Phoenix FRAG meetings. They meet monthly and the turn outs are large, great than 50 people. They swap off with an auction one month and trade/sale the following month.

It is worth the drive 2 or 3 times a year. We should stir up some interest and get a handful of Tucsoners to carpool up there for a meeting.

CORRECTION ..... There are now TWO yes count them TWO FRAG meeting monthly in phoenix.
One on the East Side ran by Adrian "Helfrichschik"
The other on the West Side ran by Jonathan "JMCAquarium"

Also on an every other month rotation we have a PROP Auction which counts as the East side meeting. so in short there is always a frag meeting once month every other month there are two of them.
East pulls 20-30 per normal meeting
West pulls 10-20 per normal meeting
This does not include the speakers we have come in and events we put together for all to enjoy
Prop pulls 40+ easy

If you all are serious about wanting to come up let us know we can make sure it's worth your wild to come :P
 
I hope the Tucson folks can get together. I can drive the 90 miles to Tucson, but it's about 230 miles to Phoenix and that would just be too far.

This is a great idea! Once I get my tank up and running I will be looking to get some frags to put in it other than the really beautiful green zoa's I bought of my brother that he has sitting in his tank waiting for my water to be cycled and able to support corals.
