CMAS Southside Frag Swap - 10/14!!!

Only two days left, and I'm getting excited, cause I'm that kinda geek. I'm coming from Orland Park, and probally have room for 3, if anyone is interested in a ride.

I have a general question. My girlfriend would like to tag along and make sure I don't spend the nest egg while I'm there (a half truth). I'm not sure how hard and fast the rules are for admitance. I'm a card carrying member and she is not. She's not there to buy, just to look, but will I need to wait until 2 to get in? I don't mind paying her cover, but I'm assuming that the hour head start is to make sure CMAS members get first picks. Please let me know, so I can make plans. Thanks!

jcm1229 -- That is a killer coral. I love the colors. I don't know if I'll be there at 3:30, but it is awesome, and would love the opportunity to get my hands on one next time you decide you need to frag it out.

So, what do you guys think? Gonna reach the 80 person max? Should I set up a tent now?

Okay Southside reefers..... Here it comes!!!

Here's the update.... As of tonight (Thursday), we have ten confirmed sellers. We have a couple of maybes and have had two drop out, due to personal emergencies......

We have room for at least two-three more sellers!

And it we get more than that, we'll double up!

We should have a packed house, so make your plans to come!!!

Times:

Sellers get in at 12:30PM to set up...

CMAS members get in at 1:00 PM to buy, trade and drool!!!

Non-Members get in at 2:00 PM - There will be plenty left to grab!

Note: If you haven't joined CMAS, we WILL have member applications there. Better yet, download the form, fill it out and bring it with you for quicker service!

If you are a CMAS member and plan to bring a non-member guest, you can come in at 1:00 and there is no cost to the non-member as long as they are not trading, or buying! They can drool all they want for free!!!

Is there any way that someone headed to the swap can pick up a frag for me? There is no way i can make it to the swap since i work all day, im also not going to be able to get anything until i get back from my gf's house(monday). If anyone could do me the favor i would really appreciate it, its nothing expensive(per prices listed) and i would pay extra for the trouble and taking care of it until monday.
almost forgot to say i would need it to be someone in the city or close to it, i live right in the west side of chicago. I can pay extra for the favor or maybe even arrange to get some work done on someones car?

Does anyone know if expired members can renew membership and enter at 1pm? Realize this depends on the generous volunteers working the door/table while the rest of us have fun.

Sivad, Yes you can renew your membership at the door at 1:00 PM. When you actually get in to the swap depends upon how fast us poor slugs can process new memberships and renewals!

CMAS is hostings it's first Southside Frag swap TODAY! The hours are from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM at VFW is Alsip.

Note that CMAS members (or those joining CMAS at the door) get in at 1:00!

If you are on the fence, just get in the car and come! It's a short drive and you'll get to trade or buy frags, gossip and meet other CMAS members!

I was there.. spent almost $100.00

Picked up some nice rics, watermelon echino, some weird LPS that I dont know was it is.. but it was only $35 and pretty so I got it & some cheato for the fuge..

Overall pretty cool.. I just hope this watermelon echino really is watermelon echino bcuz i paid a decent amount for the little frag.

The event was great, and it was close to home. I picked up some really nice pieces and meet some local reefers. It was also nice to meet Fiberlux. Picked up the following.

Well, you wouldn't have believed it, but we had our fifteen minutes of fame today...... First time one of our events was covered by TV, no less than channel 7! What, you don't believe that they'd think our frag swap important enough??

Okay, so they were really there to cover the new VFW memorial to our armed forces serving Iraq and Afganistan!
