CO2 tank Leak

Can a regulator go bad and leak? its only a year old or maybe I didn't tighten the nut enough that connects the regulator to the tank. This is the first time I've refilled the tank. I also put the little rubber washer that comes with the refilled tank where the regulator connects to the tank. The regulator has a hard plasic perminant washer where it connects to the tank,maybe I shouldn't have added the secound washer.

has anyone had the same experience?

Hey Bob, I have a rubber o-ring kit that has from pencil tip sized o-rings to about 2 inch o-rings. If you want I will bring it to the meeting and you can just take it home and swap out the bad one.

Bob, leaks can also happen when you turn the regulator too high, make sure to turn the knob until you get both needles on the gauge moving to the max point and stop, thats when you stop turning the knob clock wise.

Thanks for the offer of the Oring,but I think its either I don't need the disposable Oring, I turned the pressure up too high(as Tom mentioned) or the regulator is bad.

Tom's observation makes some sense because I turned the pressure to 55 or 4 on the outer ring of the gauge and came back later and the needle was at max. I think I'll get the tank refilled go without the disposable oring between the tank and regulator. I find it hard to beleive the regulator is bad because its only a year old.
