CO2 Tank - where to get one?

I need a CO2 tank to finish setting up my calcium reactor. I have found one place called Airgas in the valley that has them for about $85 for the 5lb tank and $17 to fill it. It's only open 8-5 weekdays and is in the valley so of course i can't get there, and these thinks can't be shipped full...

SO - does anyone know of a place where i can get a Co2 tank with relative ease and a good price? I'm having the worst luck googling this.

FWIW - another place in the valley is Gordon Woods Industrial Welding Supply. They have one in N. Hollywood and in Canoga Park. No. Hollywood is (818) 759-6900.

check all your local welding supply stores. Most of them carry the co2 containers and will do swaps when its empty. I just did that on one of my local WSS and it was 15/swap and refill

try "welding supplies" in your yellow pages...my local Airgas is the best place I have found but I've also found prices vary A LOT from place to place...I've also found that prices vary at my local Airgas. They have a few different rate scales that they charge. I've always paid them around $8 to fill my 10 pound tank. The last time I went in they charged me $19...I told the guy that I've always paid around $8 to fill it...he then setup an account with no name and charged me $9 and change, he said that was the best price at this time.

Ask them to setup an account for you and see if the price changes.. You probably wont get big price cut on the tank but you will see a big diff on the fill rate. Also expect to swap the tank rather then have it filled everytime, its cheaper that way.

actualy the last time I had my co2 tank refilled they charged me only $10 but thier pump was broken and could not refill so I had to pay alittle more for it since they have to charge some kind of hazard material charge.

I went with Airgas as well. Its $105 for 20lb tank filled. What was even better was instead of the heavy metal ones I got a chance to pick an aluminum one that was practically new.

Taking about co2 tank, I came across two c02 tanks; 1 is a small size labled 5lbs the other is about 2 times wider and 5-6" taller with a handle, and it's also labled as 5 lbs tank.

My dad told me that the 5 lbs thingy is just the pressure the tank can hold and the larger tank hold more co2 than the smaller tank. Is this right ?

The picture of the two tanks is the same as the one posted on marine depot.
