CO2 tank

I have just purchased a geo 618 reactor and I am in need of a CO2 tank.

Does anyone have a spare one laying around I can buy off them?
Does anyone know locally where I can get it filled?

I live in O'fallon. Thanks, Steve

CeeKay off the outer north road between brian and k will fill but it takes a few days if you want to keep your bottle or you could buy a steel one off them for around 125 filled.

CK gas sells them for ~$35, filled

I spoke with CeeKay today and they said $71 for the tank plus $20 for the fill.
So, still looking

in what time frame do you need this?

i know farmer has a 5lb,10lb and a 30lb

Thanks chelsey but I think dave is right.

Dave, do you have a fish room? I think you should buy the 30lb.

I have such limited space, I even looked at the 2.5lb.
I was going to buy one this weekend but I think I might just look around as I have about a week or so.

yeah, I've got a fish room. On PM'ing chad, I was under the impression that he was currently using the 10lb, and when that eventually ran out (which could be quite awhile), he was going to switch to the 30lb himself....or at least that's the story as I understood it.

All I have to do now is actually order the Ca reactor.
Wanna go through PA, but they are out of them and don't have a hard date for when they're going to have them.

Reggae, are you getting a pH controller with yours as well? Can I use the pH probe off of my AC Jr for this function?

From the people I've spoken with, the 5lb. will give me about a 14 month period on a medium to highly stocked stoney 120. I just don't know if I have the room for even a 5lb. and that's why the 2.5 looked so good to me. If I can't change a tank every 6-7 months, than that's my own problem. :D

As far as your reactor goes. You got my pm. I'd try again as I think it's simply miscommunication. However, that's up to you.

I bought a AC Pro but you can't run 2 PH probes of them either so it's gone. From numerous people's advice, I'll be keeping my AC Jr. and I'll be running the CR with the probe and occasionally taking it out to confirm the water. However, you could pick up a ph monitor for about $30 to at least keep an eye on the water. I plan on just testing the water and using the controller for the reactor. I'm not spending that amount for the AC III

Primary choice would be the 612, but I would also be willing to do the 618 if it were the only available between the two. Only $40 difference in price.

I'd look at what you plan on doing in the future. Going to the 618 only gives you 50gallons more (on their estimates) more and it's 6" taller. Do you really expect a noticable difference. No. Resale, maybe a bit. If I were to do it I'd either go with either the 612 or if you plan on upgrading anytime in the next couple years, than go with the 624. In my opinion, not really worth going with the 618.

I'm forced to do what I can fit. I have to fit a sump, top off box, calcium reactor, co2 tank, 2-phosban reactors under a 4' tank. I hope all my measurement are right :D

Not expecting to see a difference with the 618, like I said, the only reason I'd go with that is if they happened to have those in stock and didn't have any 612's readily available or coming in soon. As far as the future goes, I'm not doing anything until I get more success than what I'm getting currently. I have some SPS that are growing ok, others haven't budged from their frag size. Some color up pretty well, others don't, and some have lost tissue in the past due to instability of ca, alk, and mg. I'm looking to get that stability and see what happens. Probably my favorite coral in the tank is the one that is my avatar right now and I'm really happy to say that he is still looking good and growing, but I'm sure they'd all grow much faster with a reactor on the tank. I also need to get my ATO hooked up and running.

I had originally ordered a 612 package from thereefstop.com and since they are not readily available and the 618 was, I upgraded. Mark at thereefstop.com does a great job with communication and is a ton of help. I will have my package on Tuesday.

Following up on this if anyone was reading along and interested...just pre-ordered a GEO 612 from Premium Aquatics along with their package deal. Jeremy there says that they have 20 of the 612's coming in next week, the 618's are supposed to come in the week after that. So, if you were in the market for one, I believe they still have some not spoken for.

Mr. Farmer, if you read this I may be wanting to get in touch with you soon about that 5 lb tank.
