CO2 Tanks

You guys with larger tanks 120+ and primarily SPS, how long does your CO2 tanks last? I'm not sure whether to get a 10lb or a 5lb. 5 would be easier since it is smaller but if I have to refill it every 3 months, I'd rather go with a 10lb.

Also, I see some from beveragefactory.com that are cheaper then some of the online reef stores. Are they pretty much the same or do I need to make sure it has a certain threaded adapter?

What do they run cost wise to fill up from your experience?

Thanks.

If I were you, I would get both. That is what I and many others have decided to do so that your reactor is not down while you are trying to get a refill. It never fails that it goes down over the weekend or holiday where you end up being screwed for a few days.

I think it should last quite a while. I don't have a CO2 reactor, but I do have a co2 system for my planted tank, and injecting 3 bubbles per second the 5LB container lasts about 4-5 months. I don't think you use a bubble rate anywhere near that for a reactor.

I do agree with Jjjimmy though, it would always be a good idea to have a backup.

I have 2 10lb tanks to rotate out, worth the cost after running out over a long w/e when the gas store was closed. I pay ~$14 per tank fill
