Co2 tanks

Where is a good place to get ahold of a decent priced Co2 tank for a calcium reactor? I have a 5 pound and I would like 10+ pound tank. Any suggestions? Anybody have a used one?

Thanks!

Thats a really good question as I need to upgrade as well. In the meantime, if you are selling your 5#, let me know. I picked up a reactor system for a good price. Unfortunately, the only drawback is it came with a 2.5lb tank.

Hi,

I would not buy a new CO2 tank but see if you can get a used one from a place that fills tanks. The place in Akron where I get my tank filled will not fill while you wait. You turn your empty tank in and they give you a filled one to replace it. They fill several small tanks at one time, it wastes less CO2 according to them.

I just called Linde Gas in Brook Park. They have 10 lb tanks for $85 that come filled the first time. Refills are 14 dollars.

This might be what I chose to do. If I'm not mistaken, the tanks at fish stores do not come filled. A 10# tank at a fish store, unfilled is 89.99

Burgman is correct in that most stores will not fill your tank, or at least while you wait. You are better off purchasing a used (if you are not concerned about looks) tank and just exchanging the tank when its empty.

I get mine at Linde Gas in Brook Park. Its worth just trading in and leaving with a new one for the $13 or $14 bucks

I agree dont buy new. Then you are always responsible for having it VIP inspected and Hydro'd every few years and that could be a pain and get costly. I recommend Linde.
