coarlaine won't come back

ok, I made a bad call I think. several months ago I had red slime and I treated with erythomiacin. Not only did the red slime go away, so did all my coralline!

Since then, it has not come back. I do my water changes, paramaters are fine. The rocks have taken on a dark color and to me, do not look "clean". I up'd the cleaning crew to no avail.

I use ro/di water, and change about 20 gallons every 2 weeks. Skimmer is doing fine, and no other changes.

Did I hose this system for good with the erthymicin stuff?

red slime attacks bacteriacide not a herbicide so I can't see it killing corraline algae.

What is you alkalinity level----sometimes raising it to 11.5 will stimulate corraline algae growth.

Is this a Fowlr tank---if so you should check your calcium and magnesium levels too even if you don't have corals

coralline needs high Ca. and Mg. levels to produce faster.
i keep my Alk @ 10.5
Ca @ 475
and Mg @ 3Xs the Ca level @ 1425

keeping the Mg level @ 3xs the Ca level induces coralline growth...
