Coconut Worm

I have a coconut shrimp that has been healthy for 4 months or so. A week ago something bit off the feather end of the worm. I looked in the tube and it looks like there is still something inside. Is he pretty much dead or can he recover from this and re-grow his "feathers"?

Wow there are a lot of errors making that question hard to understand. Assuming you mean a coco worm and not some Chinese takeout the feathers were most likely not bitten off. They tend to drop them and regrow them from time to time. From what I understand it takes a few weeks. The worm should recover but I would check things out as this can mean that the worm is stressed.

Thanks for catching my error. I meant coconut worm.

I will keep an eye on it. Thanks for the info.

Just an FYI - If the crown comes back but ends up being smaller than the one that just dropped, then it's probable that it's not getting enough food.

Thanks. I feed Rod's Reef with LRS several times a week. I also put in DT's zooplankton twice per week. I occasionally feed Reef Roids (but only spot feeding).

Are these the right types of food?
