Coffee Table Reef Aquarium

Check out my new aquarium and leave me some feebacks. I just bought this coffee table fish tank from Exotic, the unit came with twin T5 lighting, dual built-in overflow filters. The aquarium came with T5 but I will eventually retro them with high output T5, so I can put corals in it. I'll be the first person in Sac with a Coffee table reef Aquarium!

That is plain AWESOME!!

Where is the filtration? Where do the overflows take the water?

the tank has 4 corners and there are overflow filters in two of the four corners. one of the other corner is power supply.

bkmorris: The table aquarium is approx 45-50Gal.

Pico: It will be great to have clams after I upgrades the lighting.

I will get the Fission protien skimmer form Exotic and I'm pretty much set.

Thats very cool. Is the skimmer going to go in one of the overflows?

I'm pretty sure the little fission skimmer will fit into one of those overflow corners. I'll have more pictures up soon since I bought some new liverocks!

This is one of the overflow corners. taken from the top of the aquarium. This corner the return is toward the bottom and the other corner the return is toward the top. Pretty sweet.

I've been looking all over for something different... and when I first saw this table at Exotic... I gotta have it, I think it'll be nice for stingray too!

The fission skimmer is a dud. I'd try another brand if I were you. There's lots of nano skimmers that may fit your overflow.

So there's only one bulb on each side? Looks pretty bright. You could definately do softies.

I'd love to have a tank like that, but with young kids in the house, the light switches on the side would wear out in no time. Not to mention how much stuff I'll have to fish out that gets thrown in there. Also wet arms and carpet. Very nice though. I wish they also made them kid proof.

Great tank! if you have a great view from above and can keep water quality up then clams would be perfect! However if you only have 45-50 gal I would recommend NOT getting a stingray! Way too small a tank.

I agree with both... Would make a great Clam tank, and it way to small for a stingray...

Where do you even find a tank like that?

Exotic actually had a lot of different styles, they had some in the back as well. They are pretty sweet looking and tempting.

That is the best coffee table one I have seen !

? - How hard is it to take the top off ?

and what are the measurements on that ?

That would be awesome for eels and softies !

Neat tank.

That said, from the dates of the pictures, it looks like you completely stocked it in 3 days, or went backwards in about a year.

If you just bought it, you're going to have a lot of issues and possibly dead critters as the tank and live rock cycles.

Monitor the water parameters closely and be prepared to do a lot of water changes.

Who makes the tank?

Best of luck,

Roy
