coincidence or not?

so I decided about a week ago to get my magnesium from 1200ppm to 1400ppm and i did it over a few days.

Well it seems like right after i did that my frogspawn started splitting its heads like crazy. it went from two main heads and they have seem to have split into at least six heads now.

I assume it is just a coincidence that this growth took place after I upped my magnesium. or did it actually make that much of a difference?

It's coincidence. Frogspawn take quite awhile to split heads and it's probably been getting ready to do this for some time now. The change may have 'encouraged' it along the path of splitting, but didn't cause it. IMHO.
