Collected Macro ID's

Can you guys help me out with what these are and if they are good for my fuge. Also what flow/placement to they need. Attached to rock not attached in the sand?

I also got about 5 mangrove shoots and some sea lettuce as well.

wow, where did you collect those? I would have to say pics 4/5 might be red Gracilaria, ...

The green stuff is Codium, I collect a bunch of it today and I always have it in my reef. I don't know the name of the red stuff but I have collected it a few times and it will not live in my tank.

Recognize the red gracilaria and the codium. Gracilaria is excellent for refugium culture, beautiful in display tank, and favorite food to many fish and critters. It needs to be in enough flow to tumble a bit though, as it is easily overgrown by nuisance hair algaes.

On a beach here in Tampa they wash up ashore quite frequently. Kind of like kelp that washes ashore on the west coast. The park uses it for fertilizer for the sea oats the grow in the sand. I would say just from walking the beach there were about 20 different types of "ornamental" macro algaes including 4 different types of caulerpas.

Number 4 and 5 looks like one I have in my tank, it could be some kind of Gracilaria but I'm not sure (haven't had time to work on getting an id on my own yet).

Funny thing is that my yellow tang (Zebrasoma flavescens) doesn't eat it, but I had some other sort of Gracilaria (see below) which my tang totally cleared my tank of

So I'm not sure that yours number 4 and 5 (or my first picture) is Gracilaria but hope to find out...
