Collecting Locally?

Does anyone go collecting in our local Tampa Bay waters? Are there any good spots to go? I would love to have some wild caught items (zoas, fish, etc.).

what kinds of things have people found? I understand you may take a very limited amount of soft corals. What is indiginous to the area?

There are several threads about collecting in nearby areas. I would look through those for ideas on where to go and what you might find there.

If you are willing to do some snorkeling go to the south rock jetti on Sandkey. TONS of hermits and snails even some cool fish swimming around. If you are into gorgonians there are some really pretty purple ones that grow there too.
