collecting/scraping clown eggs

Has anyone ever tried to scrape clown eggs very carefully off the wall of a flat surface to hatch them? or would they somehow open and die? or do they need to be attached to something to hatch?

Thanks,

I'm no Clown egg specialist, But I wouldn't even think of "scraping" eggs off ANYTHING.... JMO

why? i use a raxor blade to scrape xenia off of my glass and it works better than cutting it , i figure with a sharop razor blade i can scrape them off without breaking them but im not sure how it would effect them hatching. I figure it may be worth a shot since they just become tasty little sardines anyway!

Just my opinion....I wouldn't mess with them unless I was going to possibly think of having some roe..............
I don't see the xenia and Clown eggs as the same scrape...Lol.

I would not do that you might kill the eggs

I understand the eggs might die if they are scraped, this isnt the question they are going to die anyway( this is about my 30 th clutch) once they hatch so my question is for anyone that knows if they can hatch without being attached to something if they dont break when i scrape them??..

at this point i might as well try it out and report my findings...

I agree!!

i followed what they did in the link step by step and had great sucess!! it really wasnt all that difficult providing you have the bubble rate correct and you harvest the eggs correctly!!

Thanks again!!!
