Hello all.
I have a 65 G system with a 40G sump and a 25G fuge/seahorse tank.
system had some rough times, but now is back to normal, running on Zeo and DSBs and ... the no3 and po4 are both undetectable. 95% SPS and only 3 pieces of LPS.
the SPS have started to get their color and polyp extension back, good growth and ... . now some of the corals went further than just getting their colors back, they are now changing colors !! is this normal ? or am I doing something wrong ?
for example a blue/white monti piece, after some time in my tank it got kinda darker, now its back to original color, but yesterday I started noticing yellow and green patches on it ! is this normal ? (I am not minding it, it actually looks tri color now
but want to know if I should watch out for anything)
also, ever since the growth picked up, the tip of most SPS are now florescent blue, as usual, but not getting their original color, it just keeps growing blue ! (which is nice, but different) and also the space between polyps is bigger on the tip.
any advice ?
PS lighting is 8 T5 HOs, 5 ATI actinic, 1 blue plus, 2 white. the lights will need to be replaced soon (in 2 months) what color configuration do you recommand for MAX coloration of SPS ? I like the blue side better, and I guess that helps the coloration of the corals as well. Please let me know what bulbs you think I should get ? I am thinking of adding a fiji pink to the mix as well as one or two pure actinic.
