Colorado Springs this Weekend

I will be in Colorado Springs this weekend and was wondering are there any LFS that I should see while there.

Coming up from Dallas to visit family in the Springs.

You may not find much this time of year but there are a few to check out. Neptune's Realm, MR Aqua, and Seascape have the greatest amount of livestock and overall inventory.

There are also a couple of smalller LFS' worth checking out, Exotic Tropicals, and Fishy business...

Where are you staying in C.S?? This will determine which ones you should see, because they are spread out all over town.

David,
There are a couple lfs's off of I-25, Mr. Aqua and Exotic Tropicals are just off the Filmore exit. Neptunes Realm is on Colorado off the Cimmaron exit. Then there is Seascapes at Academy and Austin Bluffs (I think thats right), and Fishy Business at Academy and Maizeland. You shoud be able to get detailed directions from Yahoo or Mapquest.

Thanks for the quick response. I will be staying at the Marriott Residence Inn on N Academy and will also be visiting with my brother-in-law (Joe Turner) who has a large reef tank himself. Maybe you know him?

I will be checking out the stores that you suggested.

Thanks again.

Joe Turner is your bro-in-law??

How's he doing?? I heard he was in poor health. Many of us are familiar with his tank, we even had one of our meetings at his house.

Send Joe our best...

He seems to be doing better and hope to get him out to some of the stores while we a there. When Joe came to Dallas we took all over to some of the better stores down here.

I will tell hello for all you guys.

It depends on what you want to see. Since you're coming from Dallas, are you just wanting to look?

David,
TThen there is Seascapes at Academy and Austin Bluffs (I think thats right),

Union and Academy

Sorry to hear about Joe, tell him I said hey and get better.

Just got into town after a long drive up (11 hours) and making plans for dinner. We are playing golf in the morning and starting the family thing in the afternoon.

Going to try and get to some of the stores on Sat. just looking unless we run across something that we just cannot do without.

Thanks for all the help....

Is anyone from the Springs going to MACNA this year in Houston?

My wife and I went to the one last year in Washington DC and it was well worth the trip. The vendor area alone made the trip worth it then you add the speakers and the interaction with other people in the hobby it is like reefers heaven.

If you have time you should play Antler Creek east of C Springs. 8,100 yards from the tips, 6 tees per hole.

Castle Pines North

WoW, you have some good connections!!! Enjoy and let us know how it was, I love Castle Pines, where they play the International

No, Castle Pines North is not Castle Pines. Castle Pines North is a public course ($100 for 9 or 18)--ryegrass with bentgrass greens. Castle Pines is a private course ($150 for 18) designed by Nicklaus--all bentgrass fairways and greens. I played on one other course that was all bentgrass, the Royal St George in England, when my folks visited me in England in the mid 80's. The fairways were like greens. It was a shame to take a divot on them. The greens were cut so close we sent our first putts off the first two greens. It was like putting on linoleum.

I'm taking my dad to the International this year for the final round. My company is a major sponsor. :D
