colored carpets

is it true that besides green carpet anemones, all other colors are dyed by people? and that the dye will utimately kill them in the end?

there are a few reefs out there that have red ones.
but yes, I do believe the dye will ultimately kill the animal

NO, there are different colors, red, blue, brown, tan, white and also a sage green with white. these are not dyed, but the red and blue are very expensive and keep in mind that to have a carpet you should have a very well established tank, up and running for at least 1 year. and, these carpets are fish killers if a fish gets caught up in them, and they are very sticky. they will sting you, also.

if u have tangs in ur tank, i will think twice b/f u add a carpet. my yellow tang went into the blue carpet when i'm doing the water change.... once the carpet got ur fish, there is no way u can help the fish but watch it die...
