Colorful Nudibranchs

Just wondering if anyone has ever had any of these guys, and what luck you've had...
I've heard they don't live very long...

Never had one, but as I understand it they do not live very long and once they die they release a toxin that can wipe out the tank.

They are generally specialized eaters and even the largest tanks don't have enough to support them for very long. I wish we could keep them alive, they are awsome!

I've had the one in the upper right (purple). He lived happily for 6-7 months in a 12 gal. nano cube. I moved him to a 55 and he died along with a bunch of other stuff in a sea apple incident. I've tried them a few times since, and they always seem to end up in the overflow or getting sucked up in a powerhead. They seem to like higher flow areas, sometimes to the point of their demise.

BenjieC is right. Very specialized eaters. Beautiful and I'd love to have one, but unfortunately they are better off being left in the ocean.

Had the same one. Placed him in my 210, enjoyed him that night, never saw him again.
